0:00Everybody's using Claude code,
0:01but I'm surprised at how many people still aren't using Claude skills
0:04because takes 5 minutes to set up
0:06and it can save you hours every week.
0:08So this is an intro to Claude skills for busy people.
0:11So what are Claude skills?
0:12Well, they're basically instructions that teach Claude how you work,
0:15your coding style, your brand voice,
0:17your processes, etcetera.
0:18So instead of re explaining,
0:20here's how I want my meeting notes organized,
0:22every time you start a chat,
0:23you write it down once as a skill.
0:25Now every time you throw messy notes at Claude,
0:27it already knows your structure,
0:28your format, your standards.
0:30It just does it. And that
0:31is what separates the people who are really getting value from AI
0:34right now from everyone else.
0:35They're building systems through skills.
0:37So how do you make one? Well,
0:39open up any text editor, a VS code, notepad,
0:42text edit, whatever.
0:43Write a name, a description and your instructions
0:45just like in this bare bones example.
0:46Then save the file as skill dot MB.
0:49Create a folder structure just like this and drop the file into it.
0:52By the way, you can create this folder structure manually
0:55or just ask Claude Code to do it for you.
0:57Just literally type something like this.
0:58It can even help you write your skills.
1:00Now to use the skill, you just type forward slash and the skill name
1:04or you can just do your work normally.
1:05And Claude will recognize when a skill is relevant
1:08and load it automatically,
1:09which is the magic part. You don't have to remember your skills exist.
1:13So the more you have based on the context of your work,
1:16the more value you're getting out of using AI.
1:18And that saves an enormous amount of time.
1:20Hope it was helpful. See you soon.
