Privacy Policy

TokTranscript ("we", "us") operates toktranscript.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data. If you create an account, we store your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google returns (name, avatar URL).
  • Submitted URLs and transcripts. When you paste a TikTok URL, we fetch the public video audio, run speech-to-text, and return a transcript. URLs and transcripts for Free-tier users may be stored and shown in our public "Plaza" feed. Pro and Max users' transcripts are stored privately and not shown to other users.
  • Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We receive a subscription status and billing identifier from Stripe to unlock Pro/Max features.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for abuse prevention and debugging.

2. How we use your data

  • To deliver the Service — extract transcripts, maintain your account, run subscriptions.
  • To prevent abuse — rate limiting, fraud detection, protecting public-video sources.
  • To improve the product — aggregate usage analysis, bug investigation.
  • To communicate with you — transactional emails (receipts, account actions). We don't send marketing email unless you opt in.

3. Third-party services

  • Google Sign-In — for account authentication.
  • Stripe — for payment processing.
  • OpenAI / Anthropic — speech-to-text and AI analysis providers. Transcripts are sent to these providers only to fulfill your requests.
  • Cloud hosting — servers that run the Service.

4. Data retention

Account data is kept for the life of your account. Transcripts in your history are kept according to your plan (Free: public Plaza; Pro: private, up to 10; Max: private, up to 99). You can delete transcripts from your history at any time. When you delete your account, account data and private transcripts are removed within 30 days.

5. Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data by emailing shixinzhang2016@gmail.com. Depending on your jurisdiction (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA, etc.), additional rights may apply — we honor all applicable requests.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and localStorage keys to keep you signed in and to remember UI preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept them.
