0:00I think the reason that so many people fail at digital marketing
0:03is because they sit on the sidelines
0:06and they contemplate getting in for months sometimes
0:09and they think, ah,
0:10this looks amazing, I don't know if it'll work.
0:12Will it work? Will it not work?
0:13And then they see more people having success and they think,
0:16well, maybe it will work.
0:17And then they see more people having success and they're like,
0:19oh, it definitely will work.
0:21And then they get it right to buy their course,
0:23they get super excited and they rip through it as fast as they can
0:26and they launch in like three days
0:27cause they wanna get to the money part.
0:29And then they stop learning at that point, right?
0:33Like, they just create content,
0:35send people to my stand store,
0:36and they do it for a little while,
0:38but they don't evolve and.
0:41And after a few months go by,
0:43they don't get any leads, they don't get any traction,
0:45they don't build an audience.
0:46They're like, yep, hmm,
0:47confirm my suspicion. See,
0:48I knew it wasn't gonna work. Um,
0:52but the thing is, is it.
0:54It's. It's just business.
0:56It works,
0:57but you gotta get good enough to make it work, right?
1:02You only quit or you only fail when you quit.
1:05You only quit when you lose belief in yourself.
1:08So if you 100% wholeheartedly believe in your ability,
1:12which you should,
1:14cause it's not a tech business or an Information.
1:16It's just people, business.
1:18And then if you actually continue to grow, right,
1:22like, that's the key,
1:23continue to grow, then eventually you'll start stacking skill sets
1:27and learning from trial and error
1:29and adjusting and optimizing.
1:30Eventually you hit the tipping point
1:32where you know enough to actually make it work.
1:34And that's when the,
1:36the money starts coming. And the,
1:37the thing is, it's a worthy endeavor
1:40because I don't know what your goal is.
1:42Maybe your goal is to make 600 bucks a month, right?
1:44Like, that was my goal when I first started.
1:45I started in 2,012.
1:47Yeah, I googled how do you make money online.
1:49I just wanna make 600 bucks
1:50cause we're living in San Diego and we had a Newborn baby
1:53and I just wanted to be able to pay for my, like,
1:55bills, like cable and electricity and all that
1:57and not have to stress about that.
1:58I didn't want that coming out of my,
2:01you know, on my weekly paycheck.
2:02I don't really have a weekly paycheck cause I was waiting tables.
2:04But you get, you get where I'm going.
2:06That was my initial goal.
2:07Um, but here's the thing,
2:08like, no matter how big or small your initial goal is,
2:11the potential payoff once you stack enough skills is massive.
2:15Like, massive.
2:17Cause once you figure it out,
2:19then it just works and it can work forever.
2:21And I've been full time online, uh,
2:23just online since 20, uh.
2:2516 now. Um,
2:26so if you wanna keep figuring this game out,
2:30I have some free training. LinkedIn,
2:31my bio, it's called the 5 Minute Fix series.
2:34Um, and it's eight videos,
2:36and they're strategic. Each are about five minutes,
2:38and each help you with a different aspect
2:41of figuring this marketing game out.
2:43Whether you need to grow on TikTok,
2:44whether you need to create more engaging content.
2:47Um, even if you gotta avoid shiny object syndrome,
2:50I have a video in there for that.
2:51There's just a lot of great stuff over there. And, um,
2:53it'll help you quickly, right,
2:55in five minutes of video, start getting to the next step.
2:58Because once. Once it tips,
3:00it goes. But you gotta get there. Gotta keep evolving.

Viral Breakdown

Hook (first 3 seconds)

  • Verbatim opening line: "I think the reason that so many people fail at digital marketing is because they sit on the sidelines and they contemplate getting in for months sometimes..."
  • Hook pattern: Bold claim ("the reason so many people fail") + scene-setting (describing the procrastination cycle)
  • Why it stops scrolling: It directly names the viewer's pain point (failure/fear) and promises an explanation, creating immediate "this is about me" resonance. The conversational tone ("I think") feels like insider advice, not a sales pitch.

Emotional Rhythm

  • Beat 1 – Identification (0–10s): Viewer recognizes themselves in "sitting on the sidelines" → curiosity spike.
  • Beat 2 – Tension ramp (10–25s): The "buy course → rush launch → no results → quit" story builds frustration and suspense ("I knew it wouldn't work").
  • Beat 3 – Twist/Relief (25–35s): "It's just business... you only fail when you quit" → shifts blame from the method to the mindset.
  • Beat 4 – Hope/Payoff (35–50s): "Stack skill sets... tipping point... money starts coming" → emotional reward.
  • Beat 5 – Personal Resonance (50–70s): "I just wanted $600 a month... waiting tables" → vulnerability creates trust.
  • Climax moment: "Once you figure it out, it just works and it can work forever." – The ultimate relief: success is repeatable.

Keyword Density

Word/Phrase Count (approx.) Function
"work" / "doesn't work" 8 Algorithmic reach (high search volume for "does digital marketing work")
"quit" / "fail" 6 Emotional pull (fear + relief cycle)
"grow" / "evolve" 5 Algorithmic reach (growth content) + emotional (progress narrative)
"money" / "pay" 4 Algorithmic reach (high CPM keywords)
"tipping point" 2 Emotional pull (unique phrase, memorable)
"stack" (skills/skill sets) 3 Emotional pull (feels actionable, concrete)
"five minutes" 3 Algorithmic reach (low-barrier promise)

Why It Spreads

  1. Universal pain point + specific story – "I just wanted $600 a month" is the most shareable line. It humanizes the creator and makes the dream feel attainable. Viewers tag friends who are "waiting tables" or "stuck in a 9–5."
  2. Pattern interrupt on failure – Most "why you fail" videos blame the strategy. This one blames the timeline and mindset, which is a fresh take. The line "you only fail when you quit" is highly quotable for reposts.
  3. Free value CTA with urgency – "8 videos, each 5 minutes" lowers commitment. The phrase "once it tips, it goes" creates FOMO to click now. The CTA doesn't feel pushy because it's wrapped in empathy.
  4. Emotional roller coaster in 90 seconds – The script hits: curiosity → frustration → hope → vulnerability → relief → call to action. This keeps retention high, which signals the algorithm to push it further.
  5. Self-referential authority – "I've been full time online since 2016" is a credibility bomb. It's not bragging; it's proof that the "tipping point" is real. Viewers trust someone who's been in the trenches.

What You Can Steal

  1. Open with a "they" story, not a "you" accusation – "I think the reason so many people fail..." feels like an observation, not a lecture. Use third-person ("they sit on the sidelines") to let the viewer self-identify without feeling attacked.
  2. Embed a micro-story with a dollar amount – "I just wanted $600 a month" is a specific, relatable goal. Use a concrete number in your own story (e.g., "I needed $500 to pay rent") to make success feel tangible.
  3. End with a low-commitment, high-value freebie – "8 videos, each 5 minutes" is a specific, scannable offer. Avoid "free training" – instead, name the format ("5 Minute Fix series") and the exact number of videos to reduce hesitation.
