How to add music or voiceover to a Facebook Reel
Load your reel and audio file
Start with a public Facebook video link or upload your own footage. In Timed inserts, add an MP3 recording up to 20 MB and 180 seconds.
Choose timing and sound mode
Enter the start second on the finished video, the MP3 starting offset and playback length. Choose Mix to keep the original sound or Replace to mute it during that section.
Listen and download the new reel
Export the MP4 and review timing and volume in the completed video. Download it and upload through your own Facebook publishing workflow.
Control what plays and when
Replace a section without losing all source sound
Choose Replace for a limited window and keep the original soundtrack elsewhere. Mix layers the MP3 over the original audio instead.
Use audio and captions together
Add a caption with the recording in Timed inserts. Up to five audio inserts can be arranged within the existing video length; inserts do not push later footage forward.
Before you start
The current editor accepts videos up to 180 seconds and 100 MB. Cloud imports, AI processing and exports require sign-in. Portrait video exports use a 720 × 1280 canvas. Only upload material that can be public: the editor uses a public asset bucket.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add music to an already published Facebook Reel?
This exports a new video file. It does not update a published Facebook post in place. Download the result and publish it yourself.
Can I choose music from Facebook’s library here?
No. Upload an MP3 you own or have permission to reuse. This editor does not provide access to Facebook’s music catalog or grant music licenses.
Can I add my own voiceover?
Yes. Record it elsewhere, save it as MP3 and upload it. Set the insertion second and choose mix or replace. Text-to-speech generation is not included.
What files and limits are supported?
Video sources must be up to 180 seconds and 100 MB. MP3 uploads must be up to 20 MB and 180 seconds. Cloud processing requires sign-in. Upload a local video if Facebook blocks the link.
