0:00No, Alexa,
0:01I gotta get out of here. I'm sorry.
0:03Please let me go!
0:05Alexa was using the rope system to climb out of the water,
0:07but Nicole saw the shark moving below them.
0:10Everyone immediately fell into panic.
0:12Nicole lost control and grabbed the same rope,
0:14trying to pull herself up.
0:15But the rope system was not built to hold two people at once.
0:18Everyone kept yelling at Nicole to let go,
0:20but fear had taken over. Nicole ignored them and forced her way upward.
0:23She climbed past Alexa, using the rope as her only chance to escape.
0:27Then the rope slipped.
0:28Alexa lost her balance and dropped back toward the water.
0:30The shark rushed toward her,
0:32but she reacted just in time and got away.
0:34Nicole still refused to stop.
0:35She kept forcing her way up the rope.
0:37Then the rope slipped again.
0:39This time, Alexa fell completely into the water.
0:41Now Nicole was the only one left on the rope.
0:43She kept climbing toward the opening alone.
0:46She pulled herself higher and higher
0:47until she finally reached the edge.
0:49For one second, it looked like she had made it.
0:51But the rock above her was loose.
0:53The moment Nicole put her weight on it,
0:55the edge broke apart. She fell straight back into the cave.
0:58This time, there was no chance to escape.
1:00The shark attacked. Before anyone could reach her,
1:02Nicole was gone. The others froze in shock.
1:04Then Alexis started screaming for help.
1:06But they Were too deep inside the cave.
1:08No one outside could hear them.
1:10In the chaos, they noticed something strange.
1:12Every time the alarm sounded,
1:14the sharks backed away. Grant,
1:15Mia's father, realized what was happening.
1:18These sharks had lived in total darkness for so long
1:20that they could no longer see.
1:21But their hearing had become extremely sensitive.
1:24The alarm could scare them away for a moment,
1:26but it could not get the girls out.
1:27The rope system was no longer usable.
1:29The opening above them was no longer a way out.
1:31Grant told them the truth.
1:33Their only exit was deeper underwater.
1:35The cave connected all the way to the ocean.
1:37If they followed the tunnel,
1:38they still had a chance to survive.
1:40But the current below was strong,
1:41and the sharks were still somewhere in the dark.
1:44Just as they were about to move,
1:45the shark attacked grant. After a brief moment of shock,
1:48the girls had no time left to grieve.
1:50Nicole was gone. Grant was gone.
1:52Only Mia, Sasha,
1:53and Alexa were left. Their only choice
1:55was to dive back into the dark cave they had just escaped from.
