0:00On a sunny spring day in April, we lost Pip.
0:05After laying with her in the garden all day.
0:08We buried her under the plum tree in a bed of flowers
0:11at the ripe old age of 16.
0:13Nothing bad happened to Pip.
0:15There was no tragedy. She just ran out of time.
0:20I was just 10 when I met Pip.
0:23Me fresh faced with a burning desire for a four legged friend.
0:26Her with golden eyes, Auburn fur and plenty of Pep.
0:30She's been in my life now more years than she hasn't.
0:33I've witnessed her wild phase and she's witnessed mine.
0:36I've seen her young and old and everything in between.
0:40We've grown up together, although her just a little more than I.
0:44What was once a hearty young hound,
0:46soon grew silvered and worn,
0:48stiff and sore, though just as spirited as the day that I met her.
0:53While laying under the plum tree with her that day,
0:56I thought about how time steals everything from us eventually.
1:00But then I studied her fur,
1:02peppered with golds and silvers and grays.
1:05Little tiny specks of life and love and adventure.
1:10And I realized that time
1:12is also the thing that gifts the things we love
1:14to us in the first place.
1:17I feel so lucky to have met Pip.
1:21She was a better friend than I could have ever asked for.
1:26I don't know if this plant will take to our rocky Welsh soil
1:29or how long Dog collars last outside,
1:33but I hope that one day somebody will see them
1:37and know that a dog was here.
1:39And some people who must have loved her very much.
