0:00What does hyaluronic acid do for the skin?
0:02Hyaluronic acid is what's also known as a humectant.
0:05And what a humectant does is
0:07it draws in water and absorbs water in the skin.
0:10Think of a humectant like a sponge
0:11and how it just holds water in the skin
0:13and keeps the skin hydrated.
0:15And so when our skin is more hydrated,
0:16it appears more healthy,
0:18glowing, and more plump,
0:20because that's how it can help with
0:21the appearance of wrinkles.
0:22So one of my favorite hyaluronic acid serums
0:24is the Hylu B5 serum by LA Roche Posay,
0:26because it has that combo of high
0:28and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid serum.
0:30So it works superficially
0:31to really nourish the skin barrier,
0:33but it also works deeply
0:34by helping the skin hold onto water
0:36and to hydrate the skin.
0:37It also has glycerin,
0:38which is another amazing humectant
0:40to really hydrate the skin.
0:41As well as B5
0:43or panthanol.
0:44This is an antioxidant
0:45that works together with hyaluronic acid
0:47to really moisturize and soothe the skin.
0:49It also has mattoacacicide,
0:50which is derived from cintella azeotica,
0:52and this can also help to soothe
0:53and nourish the skin barrier.
0:55You just need a few drops in the morning
0:56and the evening.
0:57And I usually like to put
0:58a sunscreen over this in the morning
1:00and a moisturizer over it in the evening.
