0:01here's the recipe for the best brown butter chocolate chip cookies of all time
0:04start by putting 3/4 of cup of butter on low heat on the stove
0:07first it'll start to bubble up like this
0:09and eventually it'll turn this beautiful golden brown color
0:12take it off the heat
0:13then add in 1 cup of light brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar
0:17mix that until just combined
0:18then add in 1 large egg yolk, 1 whole egg, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla
0:22(this is 3 times as much vanilla as normal and I promise you it's worth it)
0:25then add in 1 3/4 cups of spooned and leveled all purpose flour
0:283/4 teaspoon baking soda and 1 teaspoon salt
0:31mix this until just combined
0:33then add in 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips (or 8oz of chopped chocolate)
0:37from there scoop your cookie dough into 2oz balls
0:39roll them between your hands
0:40and I like to do this trick
0:41where you add a few more pieces of chocolate to the top of each cookie
0:44then you need to chill these cookies for at least 30 minutes
0:47this really helps them to deepen in flavor and leads to a better texture
0:51cover them place them in the fridge and when you're ready
0:53bake at 350F for 11 to 12 minutes
0:55always top your cookies with a little sea salt
0:57and that is it
