0:00Let me tell you something before you go. Whenever people come see me live, I try to say something meaningful to people.
0:07And I'm in the laugh business. That's my gift. That's what God gave me at birth.
0:12Your gift is the thing that you do the absolute best with the least amount of effort.
0:18I want to tell you something that can help enrich your life.
0:22It's a sure sign from God that He ain't through with you because He wakes you up in the morning.
0:26When He's done, you won't wake up no more.
0:28But as long as you waking up, that means he has something for you that he hasn't been able to give to you for whatever the reason.
0:36I'm going to help you get to that reason a little bit quicker.
0:39I want to tell you something that I learned that changed my life.
0:44I was reading a book one time that had a quote in there from Albert Einstein.
0:50And Albert Einstein said, imagination is everything.
0:55It's the preview to life's coming attractions.
1:00If you think about that, that's a really, really true statement.
1:03Because everything you see in this world came from somebody's imagination.
1:07Everything. Somebody was talking on the phone one day,
1:11on that wall phone, connected to the cord, and tried to walk,
1:15and it didn't go no further. And he wanted to just go outside and get something out the car.
1:19He said, somebody said, you know what, I wish I could take this phone outside.
1:25Everybody in here got a cell phone.
1:27It was in somebody's imagination.
1:30Somebody imagined that. Somebody imagined everything. Somebody got tired of walking. Somebody got tired of driving cars.
1:38Somebody said we're gonna fly. You're not fitting to fly. Everybody in here have been on a plane.
1:43See your imagination is the evidence of things not seen.
1:49You know why they call it the evidence of things not seen? Your imagination, you the only one can see.
1:56You the only one can see it See so all this stuff you been imagining was not some hocus pocus When you imagine stuff it actually God showing you a preview
2:09of a coming attraction He has for you.
2:16That's what your imagination is.
2:19Why do you keep imagining yourself with a second home?
2:23Because God wants you to have a second home.
2:25Why do you keep imagining yourself in a supervisory capacity on another job?
2:30Because God really wants you to have that.
2:33Why do you keep dreaming of opening a business one day?
2:37That's because that's what God really got for you.
2:40And he put it in your imagination.
2:42The problem with your imagination, though, is you tell it to the wrong people.
2:48If you want to kill a big dream, tell it to a small-minded person.
2:53You can't, oh man.
2:55Think about this in your life. How many times have you had this really incredible idea and you took it your family and your friends? You shared it with them and they shot it down. You know why they shot it down? Because they couldn't see it. Because God didn't put it in their imagination. He put it in yours. It was your evidence of things not seen.
3:17See all this stuff you've been imagining?
3:20You ought to start working on it.
3:22Because that's what God really got for you.
3:24Your real life is in your imagination.
3:26I'm here to tell you that.
3:28You think I'm here by accident?
3:30I'm here because he put this in my imagination when I was 10.
3:35When I was 10, he showed me I was going to be on TV.
3:39Steve Harvey.
3:40That's all I ever wanted.
3:42The assignment when I was in the 6th grade was
3:44everybody write their name on a piece of paper and write what you want to be.
3:47You know what I wrote on my paper?
3:48I won't be on TV.
3:51Now, the problem I had
3:53though, was I used to
3:55suffer with a serious stuttering
3:57problem I couldn talk outside my house I stuttered for years I flunked out of school I on my third marriage I lost everything I ever owned twice I been homeless and lived in a car for three years But at 10
4:12though, I wrote on a piece of paper, I want to be on TV. So the teacher went around the room and read
4:18everybody's paper. Had you stand up when she called your name. And the only assignment was your name
4:23and what you want to be.
4:25Doctor, lawyer, dentist, basketball player, football player.
4:28I wrote I want to be on TV.
4:29She saved me for last.
4:31She said, look, Stevie, come to the front.
4:34Now I'm thinking, I'm going to the front
4:36because I got the best answer.
4:38Because ain't nobody had put that on their paper.
4:42She called me to the front.
4:43I'm thinking I'm going to be finna give me a gold star.
4:46But I was wrong about that.
4:48She called me to the front to humiliate me.
4:51First of all, you know I can't talk.
4:53I suffered with stuttering stammer so bad, man.
4:57I couldn't talk at all.
5:00And that lady lit in on me.
5:02Why did you write this on your paper?
5:04Now I'm standing there, I can't talk.
5:08Who in this school ever been on TV?
5:12Who in your family ever been on TV?
5:15Who in this neighborhood ever been on TV?
5:19I'm crushing, man.
5:20I'm standing there dying.
5:21She said, look at you standing there.
5:23You can't even talk.
5:24How they going to put somebody like you on TV?
5:28So every Christmas, I send her a flat screen TV.
5:34Because I don't want her to miss me.
5:37I do not want her to miss not now episode of me.
5:42Because I wanted her to see what God had done for me.
5:46The fact that you couldn't see it.
5:48It wasn't for you to see.
5:50He put it in my imagination.
5:53But after three years of homelessness, losing everything I ever owned twice,
5:58suffering through flunking out of school go home and cut your TV on That little boy with the stuttering problem he all over that TV You can cut your TV on You can cut your TV on not now day of the week and you don see that little boy
6:14That little boy with the stuttering problem is all over that TV because God put it in my imagination.
6:22All I did was hang on to that thought.
6:25I just kept hoping.
6:26I just kept hoping that what I had wrote on the paper would come true.
6:31A lot of times it wasn't about no faith.
6:34I didn't believe it sometimes.
6:35When you're homeless and living in a car, how you see yourself as a TV star?
6:39But I just kept hanging on there.
6:42Because my mom was a Sunday school teacher.
6:43I kept hearing her say, God.
6:52God didn't bring you this far to leave you.
6:54God didn't bring you this far to leave you
6:58Why do you think he keeps waking you up?
7:01Because he got more for you
7:02He got way more for you
7:05He got plans for you
7:06But he needs your faith
7:08He just needs you to call on him
7:10He needs you to dust off your imagination
7:12And just go for it
7:14You got to try
7:15Quit waking up thinking you ain't got no say so in your life
7:18You have a choice in this matter
