0:00This is a true story. In the town of Springwood,
0:02Ohio, there were once reports of children waking up screaming
0:04night after night. They all described the same figure.
0:06Burned skin, a wide brimmed hat,
0:08and knives instead of fingers.
0:10At first it sounded like nightmares.
0:11But then they started dying in their sleep with no signs of trauma
0:15except the massive slashes across their bodies.
0:18Police buried the story, said it was psychological.
0:21But parents whispered a name.
0:22Freddy Krueger. He was a janitor.
0:24A killer of children,
0:25burned alive by the families of his victims after escaping justice.
0:28But fire didn't kill him. It transformed him.
0:30Now he waits, not in the streets,
0:32but in your dreams. There he's unstoppable.
0:34He turns your fears into weapons.
0:36And if he kills you while you sleep,
0:38you never wake up. They tried everything. Medication,
0:42hypnosis, even burning down the old boiler room where he once worked.
0:46Nothing worked. Files were erased.
0:47Deaths marked his heart attacks.
0:49But the survivors say they still see him.
0:51In flashes, in mirrors,
0:53in the shadows, right before sleep.
0:54If you hear a laugh in your dream,
0:56if the walls melt, if a glove scrapes across the floor, run.
0:59Because Freddy doesn't wait for you to sleep.
1:01He waits for you to forget you're dreaming.
